SOUTH BEND - Andrew Beidinger, 79, passed away in his home surrounded by
his family on December 11, 2009. He was born on November 25, 1930, to
the late Andreas and Anna (Wukovich) Beidinger in Kroatisch Minihof,
Austria. On February 23, 1952, he married Margaret Sonnleitner in
Vienna, Austria, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Sylvia
(Ben) Novoa of Crown Point; a son, Garry (Sharon) Beidinger of New
Carlisle; two grandchildren, Andrew Beidinger and Ben Novoa IV; a
brother, Frank (Frances) Beidinger of South Bend and Johann (Gertrude)
Beidinger Vienna, Austria; and a sister, Gisela Beidinger of Vienna,
Austria. Andy worked at Orisich Construction Company. After that he was
employed at the University of Notre Dame from where he retired. The
family remembers Andy as a kind, caring person who loved spending time
with family. The grandsons enjoyed outings to Potato Creek Park, long
walks at Notre Dame, visits to the Grotto, and lots of bowling weekends.
The family sends a heartfelt "Thank You" to the people at
Hospice. Their loving care was very much appreciated. "We could not
have done it without you." A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2009, in Our Lady of
Hungary Church. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. Family and
friends may call from 2-6 today in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S.
Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:00 pm. Memorial
contributions may be made Our Lady of Hungary Church or to the Center
for Hospice and Palliative Care. To leave the family an online

Frank's 70th Birthday party |
The party was organized by the "Beidinger girls" with
help from their husbands and other relatives
For Frank the day started by attending the annual Notre Dame - Purdue
football game in South Bend. The Fighting Irish narrowly defeated the
Purdue Boilermakers by a score of 34-21. A last quarter rally by Purdue
could not overcome the 31-7 deficit (So it might not have been that
close after all, just wishful thinking on the part of the author). One
of the exciting moments was a driving rain storm that chased many fans
from the stands into the interior of the stadium. Real fans stuck it out
and got soaking wet in the process (unless you were prepared and had a
rain coat...)
About fifty relatives and friends joined us at the Beidingers and snack
food was served throughout the evening by the "kitchen staff".

With help from Zachary, Frank's grandson and son of the camera owner
(what a coincidence) the cake with 7 candles is being prepared for
consumption. |
